Context

The role will be responsible for reviewing, coordinating, monitoring, and supervising all MEP and power-related engineering activities across the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, railway standards, safety regulations, quality expectations, and project schedules

Missions/Main Duties

  • Review and monitor the design, installation, and commissioning of MEP and power systemsfor railway stations, depots, operation control buildings, maintenance facilities, and associated infrastructure.
  • Ensure contractor works comply with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, safety rules, and relevant railway and building standards.
  • Review and provide technical comments on design documents, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, inspection requests, and testing and commissioning procedures.
  • Supervise and monitor site execution of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, drainage, HVAC, fire protection, lighting, earthing, and power distribution works.
  • Coordinate interfaces between MEP systems and other railway systems, including civil works, architectural finishes, trackwork’s, signaling, telecommunications, and operational systems.
  • Verify electrical load calculations, equipment sizing, cable routing, grounding systems, backup power arrangements, and power distribution layouts.
  • Support review of substation, switchgear, transformers, LV panels, emergency power, UPS, and related power infrastructure interfacing with station and building systems.
  • Monitor construction quality and ensure installations meet approved quality plans, inspection test plans, and project standards.
  • Participate in inspections, testing, commissioning, snagging, defect tracking, and final handover processes
  • Identify technical risks, construction issues, and interface conflicts, and recommend practical corrective actions.
  • Prepare progress reports, technical observations, non-conformance comments, and engineering review notes for PMC and client management.
  • Coordinate with the client, contractors, designers, authorities, operators, and other stakeholders to support timely decision-making and issue resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and railway operational safety requirements throughout project delivery.
  • Support value engineering, constructability reviews, and optimization initiatives where appropriate. 

Profile/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Master’s degree is an advantage
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in railway project
  • Strong knowledge of building services and electrical power systems in infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with railway station and depot MEP requirements
  • Understanding of relevant international and local codes, standards, and railway specifications
  • Ability to review technical submittals, drawings, calculations, and commissioning documents
  • Strong site supervision and construction monitoring capability
  • Good coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams and interfaces
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to identify risks, resolve technical issues, and support timely project delivery
  • Strong awareness of safety, quality, and compliance requirements
