  5. We are seeking applications for the position of K1: Chief Safety Expert (SHE) for Mumbai Metro Line 10 & 12 Project.

Missions/Main Duties

  1. Lead the overall Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) function for the Mumbai Metro Line 10 & 12 Project and establish project-wide safety objectives, policies, and implementation strategies.
  2. Ensure full compliance with applicable statutory requirements, contract conditions, metro rail safety standards, labor laws, and environmental regulations throughout the project lifecycle.

  3. Develop, implement, and monitor the project SHE management system, including safety plans, risk registers, permit systems, emergency response plans, and audit mechanisms.

  4. Oversee hazard identification, risk assessments, job safety analysis, and implementation of preventive and corrective control measures for all site activities.
  5. Conduct and lead regular SHE audits, inspections, and reviews across stations, viaducts, depots, casting yards, and other work fronts to ensure proactive safety management.

  6. Lead the investigation of incidents, near misses, dangerous occurrences, and non-conformities, and ensure timely closure of corrective and preventive actions.
  7. Monitor and evaluate contractors, subcontractors, and vendors for compliance with project SHE requirements, and drive continual improvement in site safety performance.
  8. Promote a strong safety culture by organizing induction programs, toolbox talks, specialized safety training, awareness campaigns, and leadership engagement initiatives.
  9. Prepare and present SHE reports, KPIs, statistics, compliance updates, and risk status to project leadership, client representatives, consultants, and statutory authorities.
  10. Ensure effective emergency preparedness and response systems are in place and support environmental protection, occupational health initiatives, and sustainable work practices across the project.

 

 

Profile/Skills

  • Education qualification - Masters degree
  • Years of experience - 25 Years
  • Prior experience requirement - 5 Years
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a culturally diverse organization, recognizing and respecting differences.
  • Ability to problem solve, especially in an integrated project delivery environment, applying industry best practices.
  • Self-motivated individual with outstanding leadership skills and the ability to influence without authority
  • Strong leadership skills, proven ability to lead a team effort & make independent decisions and be a good troubleshooter.
