Context

The ALTO project is a major infrastructure initiative in Canadian history, aimed at developing over 1,000 km of new passenger rail service between major urban centers, including Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Manage, structure, analyze, and standardize project data to support business and user requirements.
  • Develop and automate data processes and optimize tools across the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem to improve efficiency and data quality.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, visualizations, dataflows, and semantic models in Power BI and Microsoft Fabric to monitor performance and generate insights.
  • Work with stakeholders to define reporting needs, deliver effective solutions, and support informed decision-making.
  • Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with governance, security, and regulatory requirements.

Profile/Skills

Education: Bachelor’s degree in in computer science, business intelligence, data analytics, statistics, business administration, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Years of experience: 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Technical skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Dataflow Gen2, Data Factory, and Notebooks, for data ingestion, storage, organization, transformation, and orchestration of analytics workflows.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Fabric to design, maintain, and optimize semantic models, dashboards, and reporting solutions.
  • Strong command of DAX and Power Query for data modeling, extraction, cleansing, transformation, and advanced analytics.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, data governance, and data quality principles.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, in French and English*
