The BIM Coordinator is responsible for managing, coordinating, and supporting Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes throughout the project lifecycle. The role ensures compliance with BIM standards, coordinates multidisciplinary models, performs clash detection, maintains model quality, and facilitates collaboration between project stakeholders to achieve project objectives efficiently.

BIM Coordination & Management

• Coordinate BIM activities among architectural, structural, MEP, and other project disciplines.
• Develop and maintain BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and project BIM standards.
• Ensure adherence to company and project-specific BIM protocols.
• Facilitate model exchanges and collaboration between internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor BIM deliverables and ensure timely submission.

Model Quality Control

• Review BIM models for compliance with project requirements and modeling standards.
• Conduct model audits and quality assurance checks.
• Ensure model accuracy, completeness, and data integrity.
• Manage model versions and revisions.

Clash Detection & Resolution

• Perform clash detection using software such as Navisworks, BIM 360, or Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Generate clash reports and coordinate resolution meetings.
• Track and monitor clash issues until closure.

Technical Support

• Provide BIM support and guidance to project teams.
• Assist designers, engineers, and modelers with BIM-related issues.
• Develop templates, workflows, and best practices.
• Support the implementation of new BIM technologies and tools.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare BIM progress reports and coordination reports.
• Maintain project BIM documentation and records.
• Monitor compliance with employer's information requirements (EIR) and project BIM requirements.

Training & Development

• Train project team members on BIM workflows and software.
• Promote BIM best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist in developing company BIM standards and procedures.

Essential

• Five or more years of BIM modelling experience on infrastructure or building projects.
• Working competence in ISO 19650 information management principles.
• Demonstrated experience with federated models and clash detection workflows.
• Tertiary qualification in engineering, architecture or digital engineering.
• Strong written and spoken English

Desirable

• Experience on rail, tunnels, water or energy infrastructure.
• Exposure to Dynamo, Solibri, BIM360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud
• Experience with computational design or parametric modelling.
