Context

The Financial Controller will oversee all financial accounting, budget controlling, project financial monitoring, and internal control operations for SYSTRA Egypt. This role combines administrative leadership with hands-on operational execution—ensuring precise reporting, strict regulatory/IFRS compliance, accurate tender financial support, and optimized project KPIs (Revenue, OM, EBIT, DSO) to support business growth.

Missions/Main Duties

A. Budget Controlling & Financial Reporting

  • Lead and assist in the annual budget cycle, rolling forecasting exercises, and gap/variance analysis.
  • Manage the monthly closing process, including reporting production, result analysis, and gap understanding between budget and actuals.
  • Coordinate and control dashboards and key financial indicators for the Area, including Revenue, Operating Margin (OM), EBIT, and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
  • Ensure full accounting supervision and accuracy of the general ledger and account reconciliations.

B. Project Financial Follow-up & Tenders

  • Provide the financial component and review for major project tenders issued.
  • Validate initial budgets for managed contracts and ensure proper cost allocation.
  • Conduct monthly contract reviews in close collaboration with operational and engineering project teams.
  • Monitor contract execution, billings, variations, and working capital requirements at the project level.

C. Consolidation & IFRS Compliance

  • Ensure strict application of IFRS accounting standards across all operational perimeters.
  • Ensure timely and accurate transmission of consolidation packages to the corporate consolidation department.
  • Reconcile and ensure the relevance of gaps between managerial reporting, social accounts, and consolidated accounts.

D. Internal Controls, Governance & Audit

  • Ensure Group Finance Internal Control rules and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are locally applied.
  • Review existing processes, identify control weaknesses or financial risks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for internal and external auditors during annual audits.

E. Treasury & Cash Management

  • Prepare treasury forecasts and perform regular gap analysis with actual cash flows.
  • Supervise accounts receivable and payable to optimize cash cycles, focusing on reducing DSO.

F. Local Tax & Statutory Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with Egyptian tax laws (Corporate Tax, VAT, Withholding Tax, Payroll Tax, and E-Invoicing requirements).
  • Liaise with external tax advisors and government authorities for timely filings.

Profile/Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance
  • Experience: At least 5 to 10 years of experience in accounting and finance,
  • Technical Skills: Strong command of IFRS, project financial controlling, consolidation packages, advanced Excel, Egyptian Tax Laws, E-Invoicing, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Key Competencies: Highly detail-oriented, organized, ability to meet deadlines, and capable of operating independently with minimal daily direction. Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Languages: Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential; fluency in Arabic is required.
