Context

The logistics intern assists the purchasing team with the administrative and operational management of activities related to procurement, logistics, and delivery coordination.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Help monitor suppliers and service providers;
  • Assist in updating delivery and tracking information in internal systems;
  • Support the team in planning the requirements for purchased parts to support production activities and spare parts needs;
  • Verify and maintain certain planning data;
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports and the monitoring of certain performance indicators;
  • Participate in the analysis of logistics data to identify discrepancies or opportunities for improvement;
  • Support the team in monitoring risks that could affect material flows;
  • Support the preparation and monitoring of logistics activities;
  • Track the delivery status of parts as needed to facilitate communication with internal teams.

 

Profile/Skills

Education: Currently pursuing a university degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, operations management, or a related field.
Years of experience: No experience required. Initial experience in internships, coordination, customer service, or administrative support is a plus.

Technical skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word;
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills;
  • Ability to learn how to use ERP systems or procurement tools;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work meticulously and ensure proper tracking of information.

Personal qualities:

  • Attention to detail when identifying and ordering parts;
  • Proactivity and a willingness to learn;
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with suppliers and internal teams;
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, in French and English*
