Context

As SYSTRA continues its growth in Ireland, we are now seeking to recruit an experienced Planner/Scheduler with experience in the construction and infrastructure industry. The role will support major infrastructure schemes in Ireland.

Missions/Main Duties

The Scheduler will be required to provide support to the NEC4 Project Manager and NEC4 ECC Assistant Project Manager in relation to schedule management at Site Level to ensure that the Scheme to which they have been deployed is delivered efficiently and on-time.

 

This may include maintaining accurate site schedules and report project plan progress, milestones, conflicts and opportunities to the CBCIW for input into the master schedule as well as managing the impact of schedule changes and ensure timelines are communicated to relevant stakeholders. The role holder will also provide leadership in scheduling throughout the delivery of the project, ensuring that any schedule management plans are being implemented and complied with on their assigned Scheme.

 

The role holder will be required to provide input and maintain a detailed resourcing plan for the Project Operations sub-functional area and will oversee the day-to-day activities of the personnel deployed within the sub-functional area, ensuring they are carrying out their relevant tasks efficiently and effectively to ensure the successful delivery of the projects.

Profile/Skills

Required to have strong experience in schedule management and a proven track record of conducting schedule management activities in high value road and / or infrastructure projects.

Further demonstrated experience and knowledge in the following is desirable:

  • Delivering engineering solutions and results in dynamic urban environments;
  • Coordinating and organising multiple sources of schedule inputs / performance data into a master schedule platform and deliver project / program status reports as required;
  • Scheduling and resource management in multiple large scale / value projects and programmes;
  • Advanced capability and experience of scheduling systems administrative functions such as layouts resources, reports, codes, etc.;
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint;
  • Performing monitoring, reviewing, planning and scheduling functions which include schedule development, control, analysis and the interpretation of complex data sources and documents;
  • Working with design and construction contractors and carrying out associated supplier / contractor schedule reviews / acceptance and implementing impact assessment protocols;
  • Building critical path schedules from knowledge and first principles, interviewing and leading workshops with project resources;
  • Defining and agreeing progress reporting approaches with the contractors;
  • Managing contractor / vendor relationships and understanding standard practices in the design and construction industry, including knowledge of last planner, lean methodologies, fast-track design-build process and associated documents and contracts;
  • Communicating and coordinating skills to lead a team of diverse backgrounds and experience towards a single project outcome;
  • Project controls design and implementation;
  • Delivering continuous improvement programs;
  • Presenting complex technical information to senior management;
  • Managing high-performing staff / teams including carrying out performance management, undertaking resource planning and embedding a focus on continuous improvement and best-practice; and
  • Earned value, schedule analysis, and financial performance analysis.
