Context

The Employer's Representative team on the Egypt High Speed Rail Green Line project (Ain Sokhna – El Alamein – Marsa Matrouh) is looking for an Interface Document Controller to support the Interface & Integration Management function.
The project is a large multi-package EPC programme under FIDIC Silver Book 1999, involving civil works, MEP, railway systems, rolling stock, and operation and maintenance contractors. Interface management covers a high volume of Interface Control Files (ICFs), Interface RFIs, and formal correspondence between the Employer, the Contractors, the consultants, and the Operator.

The role reports to the Interface & Integration Manager and is based in Egypt.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Maintain the Interface Register and ICF tracking dashboard, keeping status, revisions, owners, and deadlines up to date.
  • Register, distribute, and track interface documents, RFIs, and correspondence on Aconex, ensuring correct routing and document numbering.
  • Monitor review cycles and approval codes, and flag overdue submissions, expired resolution/closure deadlines, and pending responses.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly interface status reports, KPIs, and summaries for management.
  • Organise interface meetings: prepare agendas, record attendance, issue minutes, and track actions to closure.
  • Keep traceability between ICFs, RFIs, meeting actions, and related design submissions.
  • Check submitted documents for completeness, correct templates, and compliance with project document control procedures.
  • Maintain a reliable archive of interface records to support contractual follow-up and audits.
  • Coordinate daily with Contractors' document controllers and the consultant teams to resolve document issues.

Profile/Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of document control experience, with at least 2 years on large infrastructure or railway projects.
  • Hands-on experience with Aconex.
  • Advanced Excel skills (tracking registers, pivot tables, lookups, dashboards). AI skills is a plus.
  • Familiarity with interface management documents (ICF, IDS, RFI, interface registers) is a strong advantage.
  • Basic understanding of FIDIC contracts and multi-contractor project environments.
  • Excellent organisation, accuracy, and follow-up discipline.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken); Arabic is a must.
  • Able to work with multiple parties and meet tight reporting deadlines.
