Remuneration: To be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, qualifications, certifications, competencies and other relevant criteria.

As an Intermediate Bridge Engineer at SYSTRA IBT, you will have the chance to perform structural analysis and engineering calculations while contributing to the preparation and review of bridge documentation, including technical reports, drawings and cost estimates, under the guidance of senior engineering staff. You will take increasing ownership of assigned project tasks, support multidisciplinary coordination, and contribute to the successful delivery of bridge engineering projects.

• Perform structural analyses with Larsa and engineering calculations for bridge projects with growing independence.
• Prepare technical documents, reports, drawings and specifications, calculation notes, and design deliverables from the preliminary phase through to the issuance of construction drawings.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop design solutions and ensure compliance with contract requirements and applicable standards.
• Coordinate assigned design tasks and maintain accurate documentation related to project progress and deliverables.
• Participate in and contribute to internal quality control processes.
• Communicate effectively within multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Participate in meetings, site visits, inspections, and construction support activities as required.
• Contribute to resolving technical issues arising during design development and, where applicable, during construction.
• Continue to develop technical expertise in the design, analysis, and development of applicable details for complex bridges, as well as relevant industry standards.
• Other related tasks.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent is an asset.

Experience:

• 5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, particularly in the design of bridges and other engineering structures.
• Experience with technical deliverables, design coordination, and site or inspection exposure is considered an asset.

Professional engineering license:

• Registered or eligible to register with Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec as a Professional Engineer.
• Registration as a Professionnal Engineer in other Canadian provinces is an asset.

Technical competencies:

• Good knowledge of bridge structural design principles, engineering software, and relevant industry codes.
• Experience performing structural analyses and engineering calculations for bridge or infrastructure projects.
• Site experience on infrastructure construction projects, particularly performing field reviews.
• Experience assisting with the preparation and review of technical reports, drawings, and cost estimates.

*In addition to French, this position requires functional knowledge of another language, namely English, as you will collaborate with a variety of colleagues and clients, some of whom are located outside Quebec (Canada, United States).
