CTR – Regional Technical Centre of Systra India takes care of the international production of major projects at Systra Group level. CTR team has expertise in design of High-Speed Rail, Metro, Conventional Rail, Bridges, Highways, Depots, Stations and Transport Planning. Starting from Feasibility/Concept stage to Detailed Design to IFC/Shop drawings, the disciplines involved have experience of designing in accordance with various international codes and delivered projects across the world.

 

CTR team has successfully delivered some major projects in UK, UAE, Tanzania, KSA, Australia, Canada and Denmark. One of the major achievements of India CTR team has been the design of HS2 project in UK. We played an instrumental role in delivering 3 major Sublots on HS2 with our teams proactively engaging with Front Office in UK and delivering beyond client expectations. This resulted in India team receiving many accolades from the contractor BBV and client HS2. 

 

CTR team in India is proficient in working on multi-disciplinary projects integrating Design, BIM and Drawing production in a seamless workflow incorporating different software. The technical and management teams within CTR get an opportunity to work and interact with other CTR teams within Systra Group from Paris, Poland, Dubai, Philippines and Brazil.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering / engineering technology in Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Instrumentation & Control, or a related engineering discipline, with 2–5 years of relevant experience in ELV system design and engineering, preferably for Metro/Rail, Transportation, Infrastructure, Airports, or large Building projects.
  • Prepare and develop detailed engineering designs for ELV systems including IBMS, FDAS, Control System, PLC, VESDA, ACS, CCTV, PA, communication and data networks, and other associated ELV systems.
  • Understand and develop Schematic Drawings, System Architecture, Block Diagrams, equipment layouts, cable layouts, cable tray and conduit layouts for ELV systems.
  • Carry out engineering calculations including equipment sizing, power requirements, battery sizing, voltage drop, cable sizing, storage/bandwidth calculations and other system-specific calculations, as applicable.
  • Prepare Design Reports, Design Basis, Technical Specifications, equipment schedules, cable schedules, I/O schedules, interface schedules and other engineering documentation.
  • Develop ELV system design in accordance with applicable project specifications, engineering standards, codes and statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate with architects and other engineering disciplines including Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Fire & Life Safety, Civil, Structural, Telecom and BIM for integration of ELV systems.
  • Identify and develop technical interfaces between ELV systems and other interfacing systems and support preparation of Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
  • Prepare and review Tender Drawings, Design Drawings, IFC Drawings, Shop Drawings and As-Built Drawings, as applicable to the project stage.
  • Prepare BOQ, quantity estimation and equipment schedules based on the developed ELV design.
  • Assist in preparation of technical specifications, datasheets and technical requirements for ELV equipment and systems.
  • Review supplier/vendor technical submissions, equipment datasheets, drawings and compliance statements under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Coordinate with BIM Modelers and provide the required engineering inputs for development of coordinated ELV BIM models.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary design coordination and support resolution of technical and interface issues.
  • Assist Principal Engineer in responding to client/consultant technical comments and design review observations.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of ELV design deliverables and associated technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with project teams to meet project deliverables and deadlines.
  • Follow company/project design procedures, quality requirements, engineering standards and best practices.
  • Stay updated on applicable technologies, engineering standards and developments related to ELV systems.

Profile/Skills

  • Basic understanding of ELV engineering principles, system architecture and design requirements.
  • Understanding of FDAS, IBMS/BMS, CCTV, ACS, PA, VESDA, Control/PLC and communication/data systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, MEP and engineering drawings.
  • Basic understanding of relevant engineering codes, standards and design practices.
  • Ability to prepare engineering calculations, technical documents, drawings, schedules and BOQs.
  • Understanding of system integration and interdisciplinary interface requirements.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Detail-oriented with focus on engineering accuracy, technical compliance and quality.
  • Willingness to learn and work under the guidance of Principal Engineer.
  • Knowledge of BIM/Revit and multidisciplinary coordination will be an added advantage.
