Context

The position requires the provision of expert transport planning solutions, a thorough knowledge of transport related policy, regulation standards and best practice. Undertake all transport modeling requirements necessary for the assigned project/projects.

Missions/Main Duties


• It is expected that you will have experience in the preparation of transport plans, transport modelling, Traffic Impact study, feasibility studies, road safety audit studies, transport scheme reports, and transport/traffic appraisal with knowledge of relevant transport/traffic policy and standards.
• You should be able to organize and manage the collection of raw transport and traffic data. Analyze and interpret data findings to provide appropriate transport and traffic solutions.
• You will be required to have a strong knowledge of the principles of strategic transport planning software (TransCAD) modeling, and prior experience of using a range of transport specific and associated software.
• You will support a team of consultants working on a variety of urban planning and industrial planning tasks.
• Liaise with the Ministry of Transport and other government agencies as required.
• Coordinate with other Departments and Divisions in the implementation of the current and future Master Plan deliverables and initiatives related to Transport (all modes).
• Assist Clients by providing expert transport/traffic advice on development assessment and private sector investment proposals.

Profile/Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant field 
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the field of transport/traffic planning. Middle Eastern experience an advantage.
• Post Graduate or Master's Degree in Transport Planning, preferred.
• Well-rounded experience in transport/traffic issues associated with Industrial and City planning.
• Specific experience with transport/traffic assessment processes and compliance regulation.
• Ideally professional experience with the Private Sector but have experience of dealing with Local Authority and Public Sector clients.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Excellent report writing skills, preparation of presentations. Must have excellent written and oral communications skills in English.
• Must have in-depth experience with Traffic Impact Studies, Traffic Operational Analysis.
• Must have thorough working knowledge with traffic analysis tools such as SYNCHRO, VISUM, VISSIM, HCS, EMME and other traffic engineering – modeling software.
• Highly desirable to have experience in Public Transport, Travel Demand Management, and Intelligent Transportation Systems.
• Professional Engineer registration may be required.
• Must have experience in parking management, parking demand and supply, parking design within buildings, traffic circulations, determining the number of accesses/egresses.
• Must have experience with Traffic Signing and Road Markings.
• Must have experience on working with traffic diversion plans as per KSA standards.
• A strong understanding of transport modelling, demand forecast and multi-modal methodologies 

• Proficient time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
