Context

SYSTRA are looking to expand our Signature Team in the UK, working on high profile infrastructure projects such as Transpennine Upgrade and HS2, we are building on our 50 years of success in the UK by growing our team and looking for passionate people to deliver projects across our portfolio.

We are now seeking to strengthen and grow our Engineering team in London, initially working as part of our HS2 Old Oak Common project team, by recruiting experienced Assistant Design Managers to manage the delivery of design. This post in the Design Management team covers design and construction packages covering Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Public Health, Fire and Communications (MEPHFC) disciplines of the conventional and high speed parts of the station, as well as the ancillary buildings and extensive urban realm packages.

Missions/Main Duties

Working in collaboration with our designers and contract partners, the Assistant Design Manager will be involved in a variety of tasks such as:
• Assist and manage delivery and coordination of all technical aspects of the BBVS JV HS2 OOC Station design Work Packages
• Develop and compile with Consultants technical design packages to the project’s programme and key dates
• Manage the coordination between design and construction teams
• Support the Engineering, BIM and Technical Assurance (sub) teams to achieve Code 1 Acceptance of all Design Deliverables
• Liaise with wider design team to ensure consistency and quality of deliverables across all areas of the project.
• Assist and support both the Design Manager and Engineering Manager where required

Profile/Skills

• Degree qualified the relevant disciplines or career proven abilities 
• Experience of managing the coordination of multidisciplinary teams on major infrastructure projects
• Understanding of design and construction process and stages, preferably in rail environment (RIBA / GRIP)
• Experience in one of following disciplines Civils / Structures / Bridges / Utilities / Architecture / MEP / Fire / Communication systems

• Understanding CDM obligations

• NEC3 contract experience

• Broad Design Management/Engineering experience gained on infrastructure projects
• Excellent communications skills
• Working experience with ProjectWise and Bentley Systems
