Context

STIB's metro modernisation programme aims to increase transport capacity by automating lines 1/5 and 2/6 in Brussels.

New signalling, new trains, platform facades, and a new depot are the major systems that are part of PMM's perimeter, in addition to a number of complementary projects.

In addition to the modernisation of lines 1/5 and 2/6, the PMM programme coordinates the deployment of the CBTC and platform facades as part of the transformation of the pre-metro into an automatic metro on line 3.

SYSTRA's "Planning" mission, which is mainly the subject of this position, aims to ensure that deadlines are met in an integrated manner at the level of the PMM program. This mission is a major challenge in this complex and long-term program.

Missions/Main Duties

The Planning Engineer for STIB are reporting hierarchically to the Design & Build and International (DB&I) division. His main role is to take charge of the "Planning" mission within the PMM STIB PROJECT MANAGEMENT.

Specifically, the Planning Engineer for STIB will be responsible for the following:

1. Collect and analyze the schedules of each project in the program,

2. Ensure the construction and maintenance of the integrated schedule at the program level, which includes in addition to the projects the elements related to operation and maintenance,

3. Issue and periodically disseminate reports to the STIB programme and projects,

4. Produce critical analyses of the schedule, in interface with signalling, rolling stock, platform façade and satellite projects to gauge their relevance and completeness,

5. Propose optimizations of project schedules and assist the client in the decisions to be made to achieve the deadline objectives,

6. Draw the customer's attention to the discrepancies observed and suggest catch-up solutions to maintain the planned deadlines,

7. Maintain, at all times, a history of program planning and the schedule in accordance with the execution,

8. Manage the list of customer documentation in the Primavera tool,

9. Coordinate the resources of the AMO's "Planning" mission,

10. Consolidate the monthly report of the AMO (all missions).

 

At SYSTRA, he reports to the Director of the AMO and in the STIB Programme to the Head of the PMM Planning Unit.

Profile/Skills

  • Engineering education, or equivalent
  • Minimum 7-8 years of experience in a similar position in the fields of rail or urban transport (Metro/Tram)
  • Mastery of planning tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, even Tilos)
  • Proficiency in the Office pack (Excel, etc.)
  • Project Management
  • Fluency in French and English is necessary, Dutch would be a plus
