CTR – Regional Technical Centre of Systra India takes care of the international production of major projects at Systra Group level. CTR team has expertise in design of High-Speed Rail, Metro, Conventional Rail, Bridges, Highways, Depots, Stations and Transport Planning. Starting from Feasibility/Concept stage to Detailed Design to IFC/Shop drawings, the disciplines involved have experience of designing in accordance with various international codes and delivered projects across the world.
CTR team has successfully delivered some major projects in UK, UAE, Tanzania, KSA, Australia, Canada and Denmark. One of the major achievements of India CTR team has been the design of HS2 project in UK. We played an instrumental role in delivering 3 major Sublots on HS2 with our teams proactively engaging with Front Office in UK and delivering beyond client expectations. This resulted in India team receiving many accolades from the contractor BBV and client HS2.
CTR team in India is proficient in working on multi-disciplinary projects integrating Design, BIM and Drawing production in a seamless workflow incorporating different software. We are seeking applications for position of Discipline Lead - Track for Bangalore location.
Oversee and coordinate the slab track design, ensuring it complies with project specifications, codes, and standards
Perform detailed technical reviews of design drawings, calculations, and specifications to maintain quality and consistency
Develop and implement innovative solutions to address design challenges or constraints
Plan and manage the design schedule to meet project deadlines
Identify and mitigate potential risks in the design process, ensuring smooth project delivery
Act as the main point of contact with the client for slab track design aspects
Collaborate with other disciplines (e.g., civil, signaling, and electrical) to integrate slab track designs seamlessly
Work with vendors and contractors to ensure materials and construction align with design specifications
Ensure designs meet all relevant railway and safety standards (e.g., EN, AREMA, or project-specific codes)
Conduct static and dynamic load analyses to ensure the slab track can handle anticipated loads
Identify opportunities to optimize slab track design for cost, durability, and performance
Oversee simulations, prototypes, and field tests to validate design assumptions
Prepare and maintain detailed design reports, drawings, and calculation sheets
Report design progress and issues to project managers and senior management
Implement quality control measures throughout the design process
Guide and mentor junior engineers to enhance their technical skills
Organize training sessions on slab track design principles, software, and standards
Address technical queries or issues arising during design or construction phases
Provide on-site support during construction, if necessary, to resolve design-related concerns
In-depth knowledge of slab track systems, including design principles, load calculations, material properties, and construction techniques
Familiarity with relevant international standards such as EN, AREMA, UIC, or other railway-specific codes
Expertise in design and analysis software like Midas-CIVIL, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, or similar
Ability to perform static, dynamic, and fatigue analyses to ensure track safety and durability
Understanding the interaction between the track, supporting structures, and adjacent systems (Track-Structure Interaction)
Awareness of slab track installation and maintenance practices
