Currently, we are bidding for Renewable Energy projects in Bangladesh. The position of Environment Expert is the key position in these BIDs.

• Knowledge of the environmental and social impacts in the development of renewable energy projects, which particularly includes knowledge of national legislation and regulation in the field of environmental protection as well as knowledge of the EIB ESIA Guidelines;
• Ability to discuss with the authorities in charge of environmental protection safeguarding the environment;
• Ability to carry out environmental analyses;
• Ability to carry out and/or participate in carrying out of feasibility studies;
• Ability to carry out the Resettlement Action Plan (RAP), Livelihood Restoration Plan (LRP), Land Acquisition Plan (LAP) studies;
• Ability to carry out gender planning and gender planning framework;
• Familiarity with international good practice for energy projects, and preferably familiarity with Bangladesh’s environmental, health and safety (EHS) laws and regulations;
• Familiarity with the EIB ESS is an advantage.

Qualification and skills

• Master’s degree in environmental science or similar and be fluent in both spoken and written English;

Professional experience

• Minimum 15 years professional experience;
• Minimum 10 years of experience in assessing environmental impacts and risks of wind/solar energy projects and coordinating the preparation of environmental assessment reports and EMP to international good practice standards for a wide range of energy sector investments, including experience in solar and wind projects.
• Experience in the South Asian region is mandatory;
• Specific experience in Bangladesh is an asset.

Specific professional experience

• Involvement as an environmental expert in at least two utility-scale, grid-connected renewable energy projects,
