Context

The Opportunity:

As a Senior ETCS Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and delivery of advanced signalling and control systems within the rail industry. With a focus on European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 1 and Level 2 technologies, you will work closely with cross-functional teams and clients to provide expert advice, technical solutions, and project leadership.

 

This position is based in Brisbane, Queensland, and offers an opportunity to contribute to transformative rail infrastructure projects across ANZ. We welcome a hybrid working model.

Missions/Main Duties

 

  • Provide in-depth knowledge and consultancy on ETCS Level 1 and Level 2 systems, including their integration with existing and new signalling systems.

  • Lead and support the delivery of signalling and control system projects, ensuring compliance with project timelines, budgets, and technical requirements.

  • Develop and review technical designs, specifications, and requirements for signalling and control systems, ensuring alignment with industry standards and client expectations.

  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, offering guidance, resolving technical challenges, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering teams, project managers, and third-party vendors.

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with signalling systems, ensuring operational safety and reliability.

  • Ensure adherence to relevant safety, regulatory, and technical standards, including Australian and international rail guidelines.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and consultants within the team.

Profile/Skills

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Railway Systems, or a related field.

  • 8 or more years demonstrated design and delivery experience for ETCS and/or CBTC rail projects.

  • Proven expertise in ETCS Level 1 and Level 2 system design, implementation, and maintenance.

  • Familiarity with Australian rail standards and practices.

  • Strong understanding of signalling principles, safety systems, and interoperability requirements.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
