We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HSE Lead with a strong background in the construction industry and consulting expertise for Mumbai Location. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring safety protocols, standards and compliance are effectively implemented across various projects, driving a culture of safety excellence. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent analytical, communication and leadership skills to drive safety culture and compliance across multiple projects.

 

Missions/Main Duties

  • Work closely with the HSE Head and drive initiatives and actions at regional level.
  • Develop, implement and monitor safety management systems for projects in alignment with Group requirement, industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, inspections and trainings across project sites to ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Open to traveling to project sites as needed to meet project requirements. 
  • Provide expert guidance to clients and project teams on safety best practices and regulatory compliance. 
  • Strong contractor management skills.
  • Deliver actionable recommendations to enhance safety performance.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports, including safety metrics, trends and improvement strategies.
  • Design and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors and stakeholders.
  • Lead investigations into safety incidents to identify root causes and recommend preventive measures.
  • Prepare and submit detailed incident reports and maintain documentation for compliance purposes.
  • Support the site team in implementing, monitoring and improving the safety performance at the site.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers and contractors, to integrate safety into all phases of the project.
  • Champion the organization’s commitment to safety excellence and continuous improvement.

Profile/Skills

  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety/Engineering, or a related field.
    • Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) approved by state technical board /RLI/CLI/NICMAR.
    • Advanced certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, Lead Auditor- ISO 45001 & 14001 
  • Experience:
    • 10 to 12 years of overall experience in construction field. Previous corporate experience will have an added advantage.
    • Experience with and knowledge of international standards and certification programs such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Familiarity with national and international safety regulations including ISO standards.
    • Proficiency in incident management tools and reporting systems.
    • Proficiency in data management tools.
    • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Key Qualities and Soft Skills:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, leadership and stakeholder management skill.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Commitment to fostering a safety-first culture across all organizational levels.
    • Proactive and detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability.
