Context

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rolling Stock Expert for a short term assignment for a railway project in Mekkah, Saudi Arabia. The Rolling Stock Expert will be responsible for providing expert-level guidance and technical support in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of rolling stock assets. This role will require extensive knowledge of railway vehicles, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and preventative maintenance protocols to ensure the continued reliability and safety of our fleet. 

Missions/Main Duties

    • Lead the implementation of rolling stock maintenance strategies, schedules, and processes to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with safety regulations.
    • Oversee and contribute to the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of rolling stock, including locomotives, passenger coaches, and freight wagons.
    • Conduct detailed inspections of rolling stock to identify potential faults or maintenance needs, and provide guidance for corrective actions.
    • Provide expertise in the selection, installation, and maintenance of key mechanical, electrical, and electronic components within rolling stock.
    • Lead the investigation and resolution of complex rolling stock issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining fleet readiness.
    • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and safety teams to establish best practices and improve rolling stock reliability.
    • Analyze performance data and maintenance reports to identify trends, predict failure points, and develop predictive maintenance strategies.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international standards, regulations, and safety protocols related to rolling stock.
    • Provide technical support and training to maintenance staff, ensuring continuous skill development and knowledge sharing.
    • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key suppliers and service providers for rolling stock maintenance and repair services.

Profile/Skills

  • Minimum of 15-20 years experience in the railway industry with emphasis in Rolling Stock Maintenance
  • Must have worked on at least two railway projects within the last 10 years.
  • Must have worked on at least one O&M and projects role within the railway industry
  • Experience in Saudi Arabia or another GCC country would be preferred
