Context

Reporting to the VP Finance, the Project Financial Manager makes purchases for the project, assists the Project Manager in planning, monitoring and controlling budgets, and coordinates customer invoicing.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Prepare purchase orders for supplier requests for quotations.
  • Set up budget control points and appropriate documentation.
  • Assist project managers in breaking down new approved projects and creating the WBS structure in SPOT.
  • Prepare and create reference budgets in SPOT for lump-sum (T1) and fixed-price (T2) projects.
  • Prepare the billing schedule according to the project timetable and send it to the finance department for cash-flow monitoring.
  • Analyze project profitability and explain performance indicators to project managers (earned value, WIP, billing, margin, ETC, DSO... etc.).
  • Analyze work progress reports in relation to planned expenditure budget.
  • Assist the finance department in the preparation of annual budget revisions and re-forecasts.
  • Analyze work-in-progress (WIP) on a regular basis to ensure that all costs are invoiced in the correct period and invoicing is issued to customers in accordance with the terms of the sales contract and established methods (time and materials or lump-sum).
  • Assist project managers in the preparation of financial offers in the CAPRI tool.
  • Assist project managers during the external audit period and answer auditors' questions.

 

Profile/Skills

Education: Undergraduate degree in accounting or related field
Years of experience: Minimum 10 years' experience in similar positions
Technical skills : 

  • Experience in the transportation field, an asset; 
  • Excellent command of the Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Fluency in French (spoken, read and written);
  • Fluency in English (spoken, read and written), an asset.

  • Ability to work as part of a team in a multidisciplinary environment;
  • Ability to organize and plan work;
  • Methodical, rigorous and proactive.
