Context

Since the early 1990s, the SYSTRA group has established a strong presence in Bangladesh, contributing to the successful completion of a wide range of complex railway, metro, highway, and bridge projects for various Government Organizations and funding agencies.

The multi-disciplinary services provided by SYSTRA in all projects comprise feasibility study, design and engineering, bid documentation, tendering services, environment and social safeguards study, construction supervision, and project management consultancy. The services also extended to business planning, policy reform, and institutional and organizational restructuring.

 

SYSTRA (IN CONSORTIUM) is the CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION CONSULTANT FOR DHAKA METRO LINE-1 PROJECT.

 

We are seeking applications for the position of IE 60 - Material Specialist 2 (Package 2) for Dhaka Metro Line-1 Construction Supervision Project.

Missions/Main Duties

1. Report to Resident Engineer 2 (Package 2).

2. Responsible for supervising the construction (material) of civil works for Package 2.

3. Check and review the Contractors' working / shop design and construction planning related to civil works for Package 2.

4. Collect and compile data related to civil works for Package 2 for the monthly reports covering the progress of the works, including the construction schedule, quality, safety and cost status.

5. Assist in resolving, countering or mitigating actual and potential claims from the contractor.

6. Assist the Employer in testing on completion of the works related to Package 2.

Profile/Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in the field of Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum experience of 5 years in relevant field, with experience of at least one Construction project.
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a culturally diverse organization, recognizing and respecting differences.
  • Ability to problem solve, especially in an integrated project delivery environment, applying industry best practices.
  • Self-motivated individual with outstanding leadership skills and the ability to influence without authority
  • Strong leadership skills, proven ability to lead a team effort & make independent decision and be a good troubleshooter.
