We are seeking applications for the position of Deputy Team Leader (Civil) for DFCC APL 3 project based at Meerut.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Overall, In-charge of respective jurisdiction.
  • Review Contract Documents.
  • Participate Pre-Construction Conference.
  • Assist Team Leader in Administration of Contract.
  • Exercise supervisory control over his team members and issue necessary guidelines, directives, instructions for efficient and economical implementation of the project.
  • Check Contractor's Setting Out of Project.
  • Overall Review of Preliminary Design and Drawings and Definitive / Detailed Design and Drawings.
  • Alignment by Field Check of Designs.
  • Plans and Specifications.
  • Identification and Re-establishment of Survey Ground Control Stations.
  • Soil and Material Investigation and Geotechnical Investigations.
  • Geometric Design of Railway Alignment.
  • Hydraulic Capacity of Bridges and Drainage Structures.
  • Earthwork Design, Track Design and Building & E&M Works Design.
  • Bridges (ROBs / RUBs / FOBs), CD Works and Other Drainage Structures.
  • Platform Design and Level Crossing Designs.
  • Provision for Permanent Markers.
  • Contractor’s Quality Assurance Plan.
  • Monitoring of Supervision of Works / Inspection of Works.
  • Assist in Development and Monitoring of Project Construction Sequence and Schedule.
  • Overall Monitor Utility Shifting Activities and Liaison of DB Contractor with Various Government Department.
  • Supervision of Earth Works, Track Works, Building & E&M Works and Platform Works Supervision of Bridges and Cross Drainage Structures, Retaining Structures and Drainage Installations.
  • Installation of Level Crossing.
  • Supervision of Installation of Permanent Markers.
  • Inspection of entire project within his jurisdiction at least once a month including inspection of contractor’s plants and other facilities such as workers accommodation in order to ensure that all facilities provided are in accordance with the conditions laid down in the DB contract and Labour laws.
  • Ensure Monitoring of Quality Control and Quality Assurance
  • Assist in Development of Quality Assurance Manual.
  • Check the Contractors’ Field and Laboratory Testing and Conduct Independent Testing.
  • Order Special Testing and Removal / Replacement of Substandard Work / Materials.
  • Inspection of Material Related to Civil Works.
  • Inspection of Tracks.
  • Monitoring Measurement of Works.
  • Monitoring and Checking of Quality Control and Quantity Measurements of the Works.
  • Conduct Independent Measurements of the Works and Check Calculations of Quantities.
  • Monitor consumption of all materials on site including cement, steel, rail, sleepers, OHE wire, etc.
  • Supervision of Integrated Testing and Commissioning and Trial Run for 100 Km/h speed.
  • Monitoring Contractor’s Payment Process.
  • Advice on Contract Changes and Claims Management.
  • Ensure Implementation of Management and Management Information Systems.
  • Maintaining Asset Management System.
  • Participate Meetings and Coordination.
  • Preparing various Reports.
  • Preparation of Checklist for Training of DFC Personal during O&M.
  • Inspection during Defect Liability Period.
  • Keep Permanent Record of Correspondence.
  • Should be having in-depth knowledge and awareness of all relevant applicable codes and rules for the project. In addition to the above any other responsibility as directed by TL.
  • Ensure the safety compliances, conduct safety training as per group policy mainly 3S training.
  • Ensure every team member must have gone through Business Ethics and compliance training.
  • Ensure every project member has knowledge of Environment policy of company.
  • Each Member of team had gone through 9 lifesaving rules.
  • Each individual had gone through the Anti-Corruption training.
  • Instigate and organize information and training sessions dealing with health and safety,
  • Organize risk assessment for the workplace
  • Ensure and manage fire protection, make arrangements for first aid, evacuate plans, organize and take part in evacuate exercise.
  • Give relevant orders to staff and impose any appropriate sanctions to punish non-compliance.
  • Keep regularly informed of how they execute their assignment, of any difficulties encountered or lack of resources to Head office.
  • Take all the precautionary measures and required to forestall or prevent a security accident or incident.

Profile/Skills

  • Minimum overall experience more than 15 years
  • B.Tech (Civil) preferably MTech/MBA
  • Experience in railway/infra sector -More than 10 years
  • Experience in similar position- More than 5 years
  • Experience in international project (rail & Metro)- More than 5 years and 2 Projects
  • Ability to problem solve, especially in an integrated project delivery environment, applying industry best practices.
  • Ensure compliance of the Systra Group policies, particularly on ethics, safety and adherence to Company ISO 9001 and 14001 Standards.
  • Strong leadership skills, proven ability to lead a team effort & make independent decision and be a good troubleshooter.
