In this role you will oversee the development of construction stage traffic management plans and facilitate co-ordination of traffic management proposals across multiple urban corridor schemes with internal and external stakeholders. Apply company procedures and systems to promote high levels of health, safety and wellbeing of staff and other stakeholders whilst personally contributing to and leading these initiatives.

 

Be the technical lead on projects, inspire & expand the skill set of the team, safeguarding profitability through engagement with Project Managers and promote efficient engineering delivery based on a right first-time principle.

Support  the business in delivering excellence and upholding the effective and consistent implementation of SYSTRA Company policies and procedures.

Missions/Main Duties

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead major traffic management schemes, including traffic signal-related schemes, from initiation to hand over for implementation, ensuring Client commitments are met.
  • Undertake the duties of designer as highlighted in the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013.
  • Act as designer, checker and approver on projects as directed.
  • Input into the technical delivery of urban traffic designs
  • Deliver a portfolio of projects to the required quality, time and budget.
  • Manage the checking and approval process to ensure compliance with both client and business requirements.
  • Support the sales team to maximise both company and team opportunities with Clients.
  • Act as Line Manager to junior team members, including the management of direct reports.
  • Develop staff to ensure the skills are available within the team to meet business objectives.
  • Undertake technical training of staff.
  • Manage relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Apply procedures and systems to ensure the safety and wellbeing of your team and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain and encourage best practice through regular lessons learning and “Learn-it” sessions.

Profile/Skills

To be successful in this role, we are looking for:

  • Extensive traffic management experience in live urban environments
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering (or equivalent)
  • Membership of a relevant professional institution.
  • Professionally qualified or working towards Chartered Engineer status.
  • Formal training / certification in Chapter 8 is desirable
  • Safe pass accreditation is desirable
  • Ability in the application of safety, health and welfare regulations.
  • Experienced at working with contractors in a design and build environment
  • Experienced with highway design regulations
  • Experience with Traffic Permit procedures
  • Experience of contract conditions, processes and procedures
  • Working knowledge of Irish health and safety regulations
  • Ability in programming, delivery, budgets and timescales.
  • Experience of designing and checking civil engineering deliverables.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Possess a full, clean driving license.
