SYSTRA Engineering seeks Positive Train Control Lead in New York, NY.
Duties:
1. Prepare and lead testing and commissioning activities of the Positive Train Control systems for the North-East Corridor.
2. Oversee the radio and signaling network testing and deployment of onboard and wayside signaling systems.
3. Lead and manage all train control system design engineering related activities through proposal, planning, design, construction, testing and commissioning.
4. Perform complex engineering tasks to support system and subsystem requirement specifications, interface specifications and test requirements documents.
5. Develop and review field test procedures to ensure full coverage of the technical and Federal Railway Administration requirements.
6. Project management for in-house software and hardware development; on-time and on-budget delivery, forecasting and reporting, contract requirement and sub-contractors management
7. Prepare technical reports and documentation of activity for the client and project management.
8. Lead small and medium train systems engineering teams.
9. Experience with complex train control systems audit preparation.
10. Manage all areas of client interaction from proposal to delivery stages.
11. Field and Laboratory Test Engineering for railway applications.
Requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field, plus 5 years of experience. Alternatively, Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field, plus 7 years of experience
Requires 5 years of experience with a Master’s degree OR 7 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in the following:
• Systems Engineering Lifecycle.
• Establishing and executing Validation & Verification plans, processes, and procedures on transit projects, functional test activities, in design specification and integration, as well as test means (tools, simulation software, etc.)
• Supporting safety certification of transit projects.
• Railway standards: EN5012x, FTA Guidelines, FRA 49 CFR Part 236 Subpart H (Standards for Processor-Based Signal and Train Control Systems)
• Requirements management and related tools, including DOORS
• Test & Commissioning on complex projects with large Railroad project deployment.
• Field and test lab
• Independent Safety Assessor for Railway Safety and Signal Design.
• US Safety Regulation (Federal Transit Administration and Federal Railway Administration)
• Positive Train Control (ACSES II) from various suppliers
• Network and rules of operations for MTA LIRR and MNR
