Context

With ambitious growth plans, SYSTRA are now looking to hire a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join their fast paced, passionate Geotechnical team in our Birmingham office. This is an exciting time to join SYSTRA Ltd as we continue to develop and raise our profile, delivering to some of the flagship infrastructure projects in the UK including HS2 and TRUe.

Our involvement at all stages of projects allows us to advise on ground risk and to develop high quality, innovative geotechnical solutions. Missions/Main Duties

  • Undertake research and investigations to develop a clear understanding of the ground conditions at a project site.
  • Plan, specify and manage site investigations and laboratory testing programmes.
  • Collate and analyse field and laboratory data and undertake analyses related to the project design.
  • Consult with SYSTRA engineers, clients and Project Engineers to develop project specific solutions.
  • Prepare detailed geotechnical reports.

Profile/Skills

  • A relevant degree or master’s degree in Geology or Geoscience
  • A good base knowledge of the typical ground conditions and geology of the United Kingdom.
  • The ability to anticipate and interpret ground conditions and to develop accurate ground models from site investigation and desk study information.
  • A knowledge of industry standard geotechnical software. 
  • The ability to produce work of a high standard with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams maintaining and developing relationships to ensure the successful delivery of projects
