We are proud to deliver Project Management Services to the Rail Land Development Authority (Indian Railways) for three major railway station projects: Mumbai, New Delhi, and Ahmedabad. Our involvement spans the entire project lifecycle, ensuring comprehensive support throughout each stage of implementation.

 

We are seeking applications for the position of Lead Design Manager-Fabrication who will be responsible for leading, coordinating, and managing all fabrication design activities for the CSMT Station Redevelopment Project at Mumbai Location. This role ensures that design deliverables related to fabrication (steel structures, architectural elements, etc.) are developed in compliance with project requirements, codes, standards, and client expectations, and are delivered within the agreed schedule and budget.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Lead and manage the fabrication design team for the CSMT Station Redevelopment Project.
  • Review, validate, and approve fabrication drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and specialist consultants to ensure integration of fabrication designs with overall project requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant codes, standards, and project specifications.
  • Liaise with vendors, contractors, and construction teams to resolve design issues.
  • Review and comment on material submittals, shop drawings, and fabrication methodologies.
  • Conduct design reviews and value engineering exercises to optimize fabrication designs.
  • Supervise change management processes related to the fabrication scope.
  • Ensure constructability, safety, and quality aspects are incorporated in all fabrication designs.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, design calculations, and documentation.
  • Conduct regular site visits to inspect ongoing fabrication works and provide technical support.
  • Participate in regular project meetings and interface with stakeholders.
  • Train and mentor junior design engineers within the team.

Profile/Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical/Structural Engineering or related discipline.

  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in fabrication design management, preferably in large-scale infrastructure or railway station redevelopment projects.

  • Strong knowledge of relevant international and Indian codes and standards.

  • Proven experience in steel and metal fabrication design, including connections, erection methodology, and shop drawing approvals.

  • Proficiency in design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Tekla, Revit, etc.).

  • Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and interface requirements.
