Context

We are currently looking for an Assistant Legal Advisor to be based in one of our projects in Mekkah. The Assistant Legal Advisor is responsible for assisting in contract review, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, and legal risk management to ensure the Program’s successful delivery in alignment with government requirements and standards.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Contractual and Commercial Support:

    • Assist in the review, drafting, and negotiation of contracts, subcontracts, consultant agreements, and other legal documentation related to program delivery.
    • Support the management and interpretation of key contract clauses and obligations to safeguard the Client's interests.
  • Regulatory and Compliance:

    • Monitor compliance with relevant laws, regulations, government directives, and procurement requirements applicable to transport and mobility programs.
    • Assist in developing and implementing compliance processes and best practices within the Client's organization.
  • Dispute Resolution and Claims:

    • Provide legal support in relation to claims, disputes, and potential litigation matters, working closely with external legal counsel where necessary.
    • Assist in the preparation of position papers, legal briefs, and responses to government or contractor correspondence.
  • Stakeholder Liaison:

    • Interface with internal teams, government legal advisors, and third-party contractors to support collaborative and transparent working relationships.
    • Assist in responding to legal queries from government stakeholders and supporting program governance meetings where legal input is required.
  • Risk Management:

    • Assist with the identification, assessment, and mitigation of legal risks associated with project execution.
    • Maintain registers of legal risks, disputes, and claims, and help facilitate risk reviews.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping:

    • Ensure accurate and up-to-date legal documentation and records, supporting audit and compliance obligations.
    • Draft and maintain templates and legal guidelines for use by internal project and delivery teams.

Profile/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB or equivalent); admission to practice law in [Jurisdiction].
  • At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in contract law, commercial law, or construction law, ideally within large-scale infrastructure or government projects.
  • Experience supporting transport, mobility, or public works projects is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience working with or within government or public sector entities is an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of procurement law, contract management, and public sector regulations.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities; capable of working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • High ethical standards with demonstrated integrity and discretion.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Native Arabic speakers will be preferred and must have Middle East experience
  • Saudi Nationals will be preferred
