Context

We are currently looking for a Graphics Design Specialist for one of our projects based in Mekkah.

 

The Graphics Design Specialist is responsible for developing high-quality, impactful visual materials to support the communication, stakeholder engagement, and public information needs of the programme. The role requires advanced design expertise, creative vision, and full fluency in Arabic and English to ensure effective delivery and resonance with diverse audiences.

Missions/Main Duties

    • Support the creation, development, and delivery of visually compelling graphics for presentations, reports, marketing, public engagement, and digital platforms.
    • Ensure all graphics adhere to brand guidelines of the program, government entity, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Bilingual Graphic Development:

    • Create and localize graphic content (infographics, signage, displays, and documents) in both Arabic and English, ensuring linguistic and cultural accuracy.
  • Program Support:

    • Design materials for use across various channels, including internal communications, public consultations, web and social media, events, and press releases.
    • Support visual storytelling for complex transport concepts (maps, diagrams, project visualizations, wayfinding, etc.).
  • Collaboration & Review:

    • Work closely with communications, engineering, planning, and stakeholder engagement teams to translate technical material into clear, accessible visual formats.
    • Participate in creative brainstorming and conceptual development with project teams.
  • Content Management:

    • Maintain an organized repository of design assets, templates, and project files for easy reference and consistency.
    • Oversee production quality, including print and digital output, in close coordination with vendors or internal teams.
  • Brand & Quality Control:

    • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and high visual standards in all deliverables.
    • Review and approve creative work submitted by external agencies, suppliers, or junior designers.

Profile/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree / Technical Diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Fine Arts, or related field.
  • At least 10 years of proven professional experience in graphic design, preferably supporting large-scale infrastructure, transport, or government programs.
  • Native or full professional proficiency in Arabic and English (written, read, and spoken) is a must.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of high-quality, bilingual design work with technical and public information content.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects) and other relevant graphics software.
  • Experience creating infographics, data visualizations, and mapping outputs.
  • Strong understanding of branding, visual identity development, and cultural adaptation.
  • Ability to translate complex concepts and data into easy-to-understand graphics.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work in multidisciplinary environments.
  • Prior experience working with or for government/public sector entities is a strong advantage.
  • Middle East experience preferred
