Context

Are you an accomplished leader with a passion for the water sector? We're looking for a Market Director to spearhead the development of SYSTRA's market position within the water industry across Australia. This is a crucial role for driving business growth, fostering key client relationships, and securing significant projects nationwide.

Missions/Main Duties

As the Market Director, you'll be responsible for the strategic growth and project delivery within the water market, engaging with asset owners, contractors, and operators. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the development of SYSTRA's market positions for business development and project delivery in the water market.
  • Driving lead generation and managing relationships with key customers and accounts across allocated markets, nationwide.
  • Overseeing work winning and opportunity pipeline management for key pursuits.
  • Leading the production of high-quality bids, offers, proposals, and marketing collateral.
  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive market plans and outlooks aligned with corporate strategy.
  • Contributing to corporate initiatives, fostering a culture of corporate responsibility and ethical conduct.
  • Providing strategic oversight for talent management within your market, including recruitment, development, and succession planning.
  • Managing the financial performance of tenders, pursuits, campaigns, and projects.

Profile/Skills

You're a strategic thinker with a proven track record in consulting and a deep understanding of the water market. To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degrees or specialised certifications (e.g., project management, business administration) are highly valued.
  • A minimum of 15+ years of experience in consulting.
  • Chartered or equivalent professional status from institutions like Engineers Australia or similar, showcasing your expertise and commitment to industry standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in business development, client relationship management, and work winning.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a focus on people development and team performance.
  • Excellent commercial acumen and a strong understanding of financial management.
  • A commitment to high quality standards and a proactive approach to safety and risk mitigation.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and lead internal teams.
