Context

The EET is the first high speed railway in Egypt. Construction is ongoing, and one key part is the main depot. Systra is the General Consultant for the project, in charge among others of the supervision of the construction, QA-QC inspections, HSE supervision, reporting and advising the client, and general coordination between contractors.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Responsible for the supervision of the construction works of the whole maintenance site: size 4km x 1km, 3 major industrial buildings, 1 major office building, 30+ midsize industrial buildings, 20km cumulated length of track.
  • Management of the team of the general consultant, ensure the optimized assignment of resources according to the evolution of the tasks and workload,
  • Manage the review of the site implementation drawings and timely quality control
  • Leads the site coordination efforts between contractors, ensuring robust sequencing and smooth handovers
  • Review the site changes and liaise with design team for validation
  • Liaises with HSE and Quality departments of the consultant to collaborate and promote adherence on the site works
  • Liasise and report to the Client top management on the progress of works and critical topics
  • As the consultant’s primary point of contact for the site, daily interacts with the contractors and with the client site representatives
  • Reports directly to the consultant’s project director on all construction-related aspects

 

Profile/Skills

  • Civil work engineer
  • Minimum 18 years experience, of which 7 in rail industry on similar assignments
  • Proven delivery records of similar works
  • Fluent English
  • Solid team management skills with clear directions and incentivization of staff
  • Capability for decision-making
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and issues
