As a Graduate Engineer in Signalling Design at Systra ANZ, you'll have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects that push the boundaries of innovation and sustainability within the railway sector. Our team of experienced professionals will guide you as you develop your skills in this specialized field and take on increasingly complex tasks.

 

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about railway signalling and eager to learn and grow. You should possess a strong foundation in engineering principles, ideally from an Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, or Software Engineering degree, with a keen interest in railway systems.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Understanding of fundamental railway signalling principles: An interest in or basic knowledge of interlocking, train detection, control systems, and safe railway operation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: The ability to dissect complex signalling challenges, identify root causes, and develop logical, safe solutions.
  • Excellent communication abilities: Clearly articulate technical concepts, collaborate effectively with team members, and present design findings.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment: Collaborate, share knowledge, and contribute positively to project outcomes within a specialized design team.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software/tools (or a strong aptitude to learn): Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD), circuit design tools, or an understanding of programming logic for control systems.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy: Crucial for ensuring safety-critical signalling designs are precise and compliant.
  • A keen interest in safety-critical systems: An appreciation for the rigorous design and verification processes in railway signalling.
  • Adaptability and a willingness to learn: Embrace new technologies, industry standards (e.g., AS 7470, EN 50126/8/9), and challenges specific to signalling design.

Profile/Skills

Bachelor of Engineering degree in either Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic or Telecommunications.
