As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at our design consultancy specializing in transportation and railway systems, you will lead the design and development of innovative mechanical systems and components. Your role will involve overseeing projects from concept through to production, ensuring that designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Lead Design Projects: Oversee the design and development of mechanical systems and components for railway transportation.
• Create Detailed Documentation: Develop and maintain design documentation, including CAD drawings, specifications, and test plans.
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with engineers, and other departments to ensure integrated system designs.
• Perform Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies and design reviews to ensure systems meet performance, cost, and quality requirements.
• Project Management: Manage projects from concept through to production launch, including scheduling and budgeting.
• Implement Design Improvements: Identify and implement design improvements and cost reduction initiatives.
• Stay Current with Industry Trends: Keep up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve design practices and outcomes.
• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: At least 7 years of experience in mechanical design or product development, preferably in the transportation sector.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD), and experience with design for manufacturability and assembly.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
• Communication: Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Leadership: Experience leading projects and managing budgets.
