Lead HSE Engineer-Green Line
1. Inspections & Compliance
Conduct frequent site inspections and audits according to the project HSE plan.
Monitor construction activities to ensure execution aligns with the Inspection and Testing Plan (ITP).
Ensure all site functions comply with MSRA (Method Statements & Risk Assessments), PTW (Permit to Work), and lifting plans.
Verify that employees are using proper, safe tools and that all goods/materials are handled and stored securely.
2. Monitoring & Reporting
Generate weekly reports detailing unsafe findings, unsafe acts, and non-conformities.
Immediately report HSE incidents or deviations to senior leadership.
Maintain and update performance logs and rectification status reports.
Follow up on corrective action plans with internal teams and subcontractors to ensure 100% closure of issues.
3. Training & Leadership
Conduct mandatory HSE induction training for all newcomers and maintain accurate records.
Lead and participate in regular Toolbox Talks and site "walk-downs" with senior management.
Support visible HSE leadership by promoting a proactive hazard-reporting culture among site staff.
4. Emergency Management & Investigation
Lead investigations following any site accident or near-miss to identify root causes.
Ensure evacuation procedures and protocols are updated and clearly communicated.
Participate in incident control duties during emergencies and coordinate with the emergency group for facility drills.
Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (any discipline).
Certifications: Professional HSE credentials such as NEBOSH (IGC/Diploma), IOSH, or OSHA are highly desirable.
Industry Tenure: Minimum of 10 years of dedicated HSE management experience within the Construction industry.
Systems Development: Proven track record in developing and implementing comprehensive Safety Management Systems.
Risk Management: Extensive experience in conducting detailed risk assessments and hazard identification.
Regulatory Expertise: In-depth knowledge of local and international HSE regulations, legislation, and industry standards.
Reporting: Advanced ability to create technical HSE documentation, performance reports, and statistical analysis.
Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex HSE challenges and implement sustainable, effective solutions.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, influence, and negotiate with diverse teams and project stakeholders.
Language: High proficiency in English (written and verbal).
Proficient in MS Office Suite (specifically Excel for data tracking, Word for reporting, and PowerPoint for safety presentations).
