Context

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our team. The Data Analyst will play a vital role in data management, analysis, insights, GIS, and power app automation. The successful candidate will assist the Data Science Manager in tasks related to data transformation, data analytics, PowerBI Datamart, Dataflow, and GIS story map development. The data analyst will have the opportunity to work on data engineering tasks with focus on Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes using Python and Power BI Query.

Missions/Main Duties

Key Responsibilities

 

  1. Implement and leverage Power Automate to automate processes and ensure proper data management practices by automating workflows.
  2. Collaborate with the team in various data management tasks, including data transformation, data analytics, PowerBI Datamart, and DataFlow.
  3. Assist in maintaining data catalog, business glossaries, and data dictionaries to ensure data consistency, integrity, and standardization.
  4. Support the development and maintenance of data engineering metrics dashboards and data mobilization dashboards to monitor data performance effectively.
  5. Utilize Python, DAX, PowerBi, and GIS platforms proficiently to conduct data analysis and derive meaningful insights.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to perform data analytics tasks and provide valuable insights for data-driven decision-making.
  7. Create and develop script to manage ETL pipelines using Python and Power BI to efficiently collect and process data from various sources.
  8. Work with Data Science Manager on addressing existing data debts within the current systems to improve data accuracy and reliability
  9. Participate in the creation of insightful Data About Data visualizations using Power BI, enabling an understanding of as-is, to-be, and in-progress data assets
  10. Create content and conduct training sessions for various teams and communicate effectively with different users and provide support in order to transform the program into self-analytics ecosystem.
  11. Develop and work on GIS Storymaps, utilizing geographical information to support compelling data visualizations and insights
  12. Provide technical support and assure data governance by managing access security and apply row level security.

 

Profile/Skills

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (with at least 3-4 years’ experience) or Master's degree with (with at least 1-2 years’ experience) in data related domain, computer science, statistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst, with a strong background in data management, analysis, and visualization.
  • Proficiency in Python, DAX, PowerBi, and GIS platforms, showcasing the ability to handle complex data-related tasks.
  • In-depth knowledge of data cataloging, business glossaries, and data dictionaries, ensuring data accuracy and adherence to best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail, ensuring accurate and actionable data insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • Strong team spirit and a positive attitude, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures and data modeling concepts.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and tools, with proficiency in Python and Power BI being advantageous.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a keen eye for data accuracy and quality.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn about data engineering and data science practices.
