Context

SYSTRA’s Mobility & Railway Business Unit is anticipating future growth, with new rail projects expected soon. To support these potential opportunities, we are looking for an experienced Requirements Manager join our project teams and contribute to our mobility solutions. 

 

The Requirements Manager will lead and coordinate all requirements management activities throughout the design phase of a major conventional long-distance rail project. The role is responsible for ensuring that all client, statutory, and stakeholder requirements are captured, traced, validated, and verified, delivering a compliant and high-quality design. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in requirements engineering for large-scale rail or infrastructure projects, preferably within the Middle East. 

Missions/Main Duties

  • Requirements Management Leadership 
  • Develop and implement the Requirements Management Plan (RMP) for the design phase, in accordance with international standards and client specifications. 
  • Oversee the process ouief capturing, documenting, and managing requirements from all relevant stakeholders (client, authorities, end-users, and design teams). 
  • Establish and maintain a structured requirements baseline using a requirements management tool (such as DOORS, Jama, or equivalent). 
  • Coordinate the requirement management across the various disciplines and Systra teams involved in the design across the world.  
  • Traceability & Verification 
  • Ensure full traceability of requirements across the design lifecycle, from capture to implementation and verification. 
  • Coordinate verification and validation (V&V) activities, ensuring all design outputs meet documented requirements. 
  • Lead regular reviews to confirm requirement coverage, resolve gaps, and manage changes. 
  • Interface & Stakeholder Coordination 
  • Facilitate requirements workshops with internal teams, client representatives, and external stakeholders to clarify and refine project requirements. 
  • Liaise with discipline leads, systems engineering, quality, and assurance teams to integrate requirements into all aspects of design development. 
  • Reporting & Quality Assurance 
  • Generate and maintain requirements reports, metrics, and dashboard updates for project management and client reporting needs. 
  • Support audits and quality reviews relating to requirements management and compliance. 
  • Change Management 
  • Assess the impact of design changes on requirements and manage the change control process to update requirements accordingly. 
  • Maintain an up-to-date requirements register and ensure rigorous version control. 

Profile/Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field. Master’s preferred. 
  • Experience: 
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in requirements management or systems engineering for major rail or infrastructure projects. 
  • Demonstrated experience on conventional long-distance rail projects, preferably with delivery in the Middle East. 
  • Familiar with the full project lifecycle, with an emphasis on design phase activities. 
  • Skills: 
  • Proficient in use of requirements management tools (e.g., IBM DOORS, Jama). 
  • Solid understanding of international and Middle East rail standards and requirements management best practices (e.g., ISO/IEC/IEEE 29148). 
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills. 
  • Experience facilitating stakeholder workshops and managing multidisciplinary interfaces. 

 

Desirable: 

  • Professional certification in Requirements Engineering (IREB, INCOSE CSEP, etc.) or similar. 
  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional qualification. 
  • Familiarity with digital engineering/BIM in design environments. 
  • Proficient in English; knowledge of Arabic beneficial.
