Context

The Architecture Expert – Stations will provide specialized architectural expertise as part of an services team supporting the High-Speed Rail (HSR) project. This role focuses on delivering high-quality architectural input for station projects, supporting project teams in design coordination, compliance, technical review, and integration of best practices.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Provide expert advice and input to the station design process throughout all project stages (concept, design development, detailed design, and construction).
  • Review and validate architectural deliverables—including drawings, reports, specifications, and BIM models—to ensure compliance with project requirements, standards, and client expectations.
  • Collaborate with structural, MEP, civil, and systems teams, ensuring seamless integration of architectural design with other engineering disciplines.
  • Ensure all architectural designs align with local and international codes and standards, HSR-specific requirements, safety and accessibility regulations (e.g., fire life safety, ADA/PRM).
  • Support communication and coordination with client representatives, end-users, authorities, and third parties as needed.
  • Provide architectural expertise during construction phases, including responses to RFIs, site inspections, and support for design changes or clarifications.
  • Advise on the application of sustainable and innovative design principles relevant to HSR station architecture.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and records of design decisions, technical reviews, and coordination activities.

Profile/Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience of relevant architectural experience, including significant involvement with large transportation, HSR, or major public infrastructure projects.
  • Professional registration preferred.
  • Strong understanding of station planning, architectural detailing, and integration of railway operational requirements.
  • Familiarity with BIM workflows (Revit or equivalent) and proficiency in architectural design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience in reviewing and coordinating multidisciplinary design packages.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of building codes, design standards, sustainability benchmarks (e.g., LEED, BREEAM), and accessibility requirements.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in consultancy service models on large capital projects.
  • International project experience and familiarity with HSR-specific challenges and best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage priorities in fast-paced project environments.
  • Preferably with UAE or GCC experience.
