The ALTO project is a major infrastructure initiative in Canadian history, aimed at developing over 1,000 km of new passenger rail service between major urban centers, including Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City.

We are seeking a highly skilled Railway Track Alignment Design Engineer for the ALTO Project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in using software such as Bentley Rail Track, Open Rail Designer, or Civil 3D for the development and optimization of railway track alignments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Track Alignment Design: Develop and optimize railway track alignments while considering factors like Design Criteria, Quantity optimization, Automation etc.
2. Software Proficiency: Utilize Bentley Rail Track, Open Rail Designer, or Civil 3D to create and modify track designs, profiles, and alignments.
3. Survey Data Integration: Collaborate with survey teams to incorporate survey data into track alignment designs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
4. Alignment Analysis: Perform alignment analysis to evaluate the impact of curves, grades, and superelevation on train operations and safety.
5. Project Coordination: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Project team , Engineer and employer, to deliver comprehensive railway track designs.
6. Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering drawings, reports, and documentation for track alignment designs.

Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in railway track design.
• Current Professional Engineer designation is an asset
• Ability to communicate in French and English (speaking, writing)

Personal Qualifications and other:
• Commitment to performing high quality work.
• Independent and able to manage priorities in a multitasking environment.
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required.
• Strong ability to learn Civil 3D quickly and apply techniques previously used in Bentley.
• Ability to interact positively with others in a multicultural environment.
• Advance knowledge of railway design techniques, codes and recommended best practices.
