Context

In India, SYSTRA is an international consulting and engineering company operating in the fields of Metros, High Speed Rail, Railways, Roads, Buildings, Urban planning, and Water Infrastructure for public and private organizations.

 

We are seeking applications for the position of Project Director cum Team Leader for PMC for upcoming infrastructure development project in Gujarat.

 

 

Missions/Main Duties

  • Project Leadership:

    • Oversee all phases of the sports infrastructure project (planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning).
    • Lead multidisciplinary project teams including architects, engineers, contractors, and other consultants.
  • Stakeholder Management:

    • Liaise with government authorities, clients, sponsors, sports governing bodies, and user groups.
    • Organize regular project coordination meetings and ensure clear communication among all stakeholders.
  • Planning & Execution:

    • Develop and implement project management plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
    • Ensure project complies with local regulations, sports specifications (e.g., FIFA, FIBA, IOC), and sustainability requirements.
  • Quality & Safety Assurance:

    • Monitor quality control and assurance practices for all construction and installation works.
    • Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards according to best industry practices.
  • Financial Management:

    • Manage budget, cost control, and reporting procedures.
    • Review and approve procurement, contract administration, and payment recommendations.
  • Risk Management:

    • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Oversee dispute resolution, claims management, and project close-out process.
  • Reporting:

    • Provide regular progress reports to clients and sponsors.
    • Prepare presentations, dashboards, and documentation as required.

Profile/Skills

 

  • Minimum of 20 years of overall experience with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience as Team Lead.
  • MBA or PG in Construction Planning/Management or Project Management or relevant degree.
  • PMP/ PRINCE2 Certified.
  • Ability to problem solve, especially in an integrated project delivery environment, applying industry best practices.
  • Self-motivated individual with outstanding leadership skills and the ability to influence without authority.
  • Minimum Experience of working on 1 similar assignment which has been
    used as a venue or planned to Personnel Qualification Experience
    be used for either Olympics events or international sports events.
  • Proven track record of working with governmental bodies/ organizing committees of multisport mega events, and sports federations.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in multi-stakeholder project coordination and relevant IT Systems capability as per the requirement of the project.
