Context

Systems Construction Manager 

Missions/Main Duties

  • Develop, review, and implement construction programs for rail systems in alignment with overall project plans.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams, system suppliers, and civil contractors to resolve interface issues.
  • Ensure adherence to local regulations, project specifications, and international standards.
  • Monitor day-to-day construction activities, ensuring works are executed as per approved schedules and quality benchmarks.
  • Provide leadership to the site team, fostering a collaborative environment with all project stakeholders.
  • Manage reporting of progress, risks, issues, and works’ status to senior management.
  • Oversee installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of signaling, telecommunications, power supply, track work, rolling stock systems, etc.
  • Implement QA/QC procedures and enforce compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Review designs and method statements related to system construction and installation.
  • Supervise main contractors and system suppliers, monitoring performance and compliance.
  • Review and approve work permits, materials submittals, and inspection/testing reports.
  • Manage site logistics and interface between different work packages.
  • Ensure strict adherence to HSE policies and procedures.
  • Promote a safety-first culture onsite; participate in safety audits and incident investigations.

Profile/Skills

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or relevant discipline).

Background:

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in system construction and integration for large-scale rail projects (preferably high-speed rail).
  • Previous experience managing railway system installation in the GCC and UAE is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of rail systems: signaling, communication, electrical, permanent way, rolling stock interfaces.
  • Proven experience in megaproject environments and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with international railway standards and Middle East regulatory requirements.
  • Fluency in English.
