Currently, we are bidding for Semi High Speed Rail projects across India. The position of Sr. Architecture Expert –Construction Support [International] is the key position in these BIDs.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Design Interpretation and Clarification: Serve as the final technical authority on architectural design intent, providing expert response to Requests for Information (RFIs) and issuing immediate design clarifications to construction teams and contractors.

  • International Code and Standard Compliance: Ensure that all architectural construction work, materials, and installations comply with mandated international building codes, accessibility standards (e.g., ADA/PRM), and fire/life safety regulations.

  • On-Site Quality Assurance (QA/QC): Conduct regular, detailed site inspections and quality audits of architectural finishes, structural interfaces, and material usage in stations and infrastructure to uphold the design quality and passenger experience standards.

  • Change and Non-Conformance Management: Review and approve all Architectural Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and evaluate contractor-proposed design changes (Value Engineering) during construction, assessing their impact on function, cost, and schedule.

  • Multi-Disciplinary Interface Coordination: Work closely with the Chief System Integration Expert to manage complex architectural interfaces with engineering disciplines (MEP, Civil, S&T), ensuring integrated elements like escalators, ventilation shafts, and power rooms are correctly housed.

  • Progress Certification and Documentation: Review and certify architectural completion stages, ensuring that all As-Built drawings and final documentation accurately reflect the constructed environment before handover for testing and commissioning.

Profile/Skills

  • Qualification: Graduate in Architecture with working knowledge of reading, writing and speaking in English [additional marks for PG in relevant field of Architecture]
  • Minimum Experience: 15 years post Bachelor’s degree experience in Infrastructure sub sector related to Transport & Logistics (Roads and bridges; Ports; Shipyards; Airport; Urban Public Transport; Railway terminal & stations; Railway track incl. electrical & signaling system, tunnels, viaducts, bridges) [additional marks for more experience]
  • Relevant Experience: 10 years’ experience for Planning and review of detailed Architectural design and drawings of Elevated stations, Underground stations and Depot, Preparation of Tender Drawings of Rail based Passenger Transit system as Chief Architecture Expert or equivalent position [additional marks for more experience; experience in position one level below allowed with less weightage]
  • Eligible Assignment**(see below): Must have experience of 1 Eligible Assignment as Chief Architectural Expert or equivalent position for full-time continuous deployment of not less than 2 years [additional marks for more Eligible Assignments; less weightage for position one level below]
  • International Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience on projects for Rail based Passenger Transit system with operational speed of 160 kmph or more in Developed country(s) as defined in latest list of Developed countries as per Department of Economics and Social Affairs of the United Nations Secretariat (UN-DESA)/World Bank – High Income Economies.

       * Rail-based Passenger Transit System shall mean

  • High Speed Transit System / Regional Rail Transit System (with operational speed of 160kmh and above) OR
  • Urban/Suburban/Intercity/Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) [excluding LRT with design PHPDT less than 20000/Tram/Monorail Systems]

      **Shall mean experience of working as a personnel of General Consultant / Project                  Management Consultant / Employer’s Personnel in a work / project (in a Rail based              Passenger Transit System* with operational speed of 160 kmph or more) comprising:

  • Construction of Civil structures (at-grade/elevated/underground) AND
  • Installation of Systems (Track, Rolling Stock, Traction & Power Supply, Signalling)

          Including Detailed Design or Proof checking of designs; Bid Process Management;                Project and Interface Management; Construction Supervision and System                            Installations and Testing & Commissioning.
