The Temporary Traffic Management Coordinator role forms part of the BusConnects Core Bus Corridor Infrastructure Works (CBCIW) National Transport Authority Client Partners Team, supporting the planning, implementation and monitoring of temporary traffic management measures required for the CBCIW project.
• Reviewing and advising on temporary traffic management solutions in dynamic urban environments;
• Ensuring works are compliant with the Temporary Traffic Management specifications of Chapter 8, Traffic Signs Manual;
• Site supervision of temporary traffic management arrangement contract works within a live urban environment;
• Interpreting drawings and specifications necessary for completion of temporary traffic management works;
• Ensuring temporary traffic management arrangements are compliant with traffic permits issued by local authorities
• Supporting engagement with stakeholders on queries relating to temporary traffic management

Knowledge:
• Fully proficient in the use of MS Office applications and other project tools and methodologies
Experience:
• Required to have substantial traffic management experience with significant experience carrying out temporary traffic management activities on construction projects in a live urban environment on high value road projects or projects of a similar scale and complexity to a BusConnects corridor.
• Further demonstrable experience and knowledge in the following is desirable: Working knowledge of Irish health and safety regulations.
Highway design regulations, notably Chapter 8 of Traffic Signs Manual or similar.
Traffic Management Orders and procedures, including Road Management Office MRL System.
Road safety, traffic incident management, traffic control and safety procedures, including traffic light switch out processes.
Interpreting, traffic survey data, traffic signal modelling reports and data to inform and steer design of temporary traffic management arrangements. Knowledge of signal timing optimisation within traffic controllers and adaptive traffic signal systems such as SCATS is beneficial.
Knowledge of quality management and process improvement practices and systems. An ability to influence the improvement of processes and provide guidance to support project delivery and reporting.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or equivalent) OR extensive on-job experience with relevant formal training and compliance certificates.
