Currently, we are bidding for Semi High Speed Rail projects across India. The position of Chief Telecommunications Expert is the key position in these BIDs.
System Architecture and Design: Define the overall communication architecture (wired and wireless), leading the design of the high-speed, redundant Fiber Optic Transmission System (FOTS) and IP/MPLS backbone network.
Operational Communication Systems: Oversee the implementation of safety-critical operational systems like GSM-R (or equivalent radio systems) for train-to-ground communication and SCADA for remote monitoring of power infrastructure.
Passenger and Station Systems (SISS): Direct the design and integration of all Station Information and Surveillance Systems (SISS), including CCTV, Public Address (PA), Passenger Information Displays (PIDS), and station Wi-Fi/access networks.
Interface and Integration Management: Ensure seamless, fail-safe integration of the telecom network with core railway systems, particularly Signaling (Train Control/ETCS) and Power Supply, as critical communication links depend on it.
Technical Compliance and Standards: Act as the final technical authority, ensuring all telecommunication designs, equipment, and installation procedures adhere to international railway standards and project-specific technical specifications.
Testing, Commissioning, and Handover: Develop and execute the comprehensive testing and commissioning plan, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and manage the final technical handover of systems to the maintenance authority.
