SYSTRA’s urban planning work is based on an integrated vision of mobility. We assess all relevant issues right from the start of project development, including current and future travel requirements, urban planning, economic and social development, and environmental protection.

SYSTRA has completed 17,000+ Square kilometer of Statutory Master Planning and 15+ City Development Plans (CDPs).

We are seeking applications for the position of Team Leader- cum-Urban and Regional Planner for GIS based Master Plan in Andhra Pradesh.

 

Missions/Main Duties

  • Leadership & Project Management:

    • Lead a multidisciplinary team of planners, architects, engineers, and consultants for the successful delivery of urban/regional planning designs.
    • Oversee project progress, manage timelines, outputs, and ensure adherence to project objectives and budgets.
    • Develop detailed project plans, methodologies, and deliverables for urban/regional planning studies.
  • Technical Expertise:

    • Create spatial plans and strategies for sustainable city/region development (including land use, transportation, infrastructure, environment, and economic planning).
    • Prepare and review master plans, zoning plans, development control regulations, and landscape strategies.
    • Apply GIS and analytical tools for data-driven planning decisions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Liaise effectively with client representatives, government authorities, local bodies, and community groups.
    • Facilitate consultations, focus groups, and public participation events as per project requirements.
    • Present reports and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Ensure timely preparation and submission of project reports, presentations, drawings, and statutory submissions.
    • Oversee quality control and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Team Development:

    • Mentor and guide junior planners and support staff.
    • Promote knowledge sharing and capacity building within the team.

Profile/Skills

  • Master’s degree in urban planning, Regional Planning, Urban Design, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience in urban/regional planning, including experience as a team leader or project manager.
  • Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams on large-scale urban or regional planning/design projects.
  • Proven experience working with government agencies, development authorities, or in donor-funded projects is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership skills, proven ability to lead a team effort & make independent decision and be a good troubleshooter.
