SYSTRA has completed 17,000+ Square kilometer of Statutory Master Planning and 15+ City Development Plans (CDPs).

We are seeking applications for the position of Socio- Economic Development Specialist for GIS based Master Plan in Andhra Pradesh.

 

Missions/Main Duties

  • Socio-Economic Analysis

    • Conduct baseline socio-economic studies, including demographic, economic, and social assessments for the project area.
    • Analyze impacts of urban/regional planning proposals on different population groups, livelihoods, and vulnerable communities.
    • Identify opportunities for inclusive growth and strategies to mitigate adverse socio-economic effects.
  • Strategy & Plan Development

    • Contribute to the formulation of urban/regional development plans with a socio-economic lens, including housing, education, livelihoods, health, gender, and poverty reduction components.
    • Develop frameworks for social inclusion, economic development, and capacity building.
    • Recommend policies and interventions to enhance social infrastructure and promote economic resilience.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Consultation

    • Engage with community groups, local stakeholders, government agencies, NGOs, and other relevant parties to gather insights and ensure participatory planning.
    • Organize and facilitate public consultations, focus group discussions, and socio-economic surveys.
    • Incorporate stakeholder feedback into project planning and design.
  • Impact Assessment and Monitoring

    • Lead or support the preparation of Social Impact Assessments (SIA) and Economic Impact Assessments (EIA) for project activities.
    • Develop indicators and methodologies for monitoring and evaluating social and economic outcomes during project implementation.
  • Reporting & Compliance

    • Prepare and present technical reports on socio-economic studies, assessments, and recommendations.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant national/international guidelines, and project/social safeguard requirements.

Profile/Skills

  • Master’s degree in planning, Social Sciences, Economics from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with socio-economic research, analysis, and planning in large-scale urban development or regional planning projects in India or abroad.
  • Proven experience in preparing or leading socio-economic components for urban/regional planning projects.
  • Experience with social impact assessment, stakeholder engagement, and inclusive planning processes.
