SYSTRA has completed 17,000+ Square kilometer of Statutory Master Planning and 15+ City Development Plans (CDPs).

We are seeking applications for the position of Environmental Specialist for GIS based Master Plan in Andhra Pradesh.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Environmental Strategy & Planning

    • Prepare and integrate Strategic Environment Plans into urban and regional development projects.
    • Advise on best practices for sustainable and resilient urban development, focusing on minimizing environmental impact.
  • Environmental Impact Assessment & Management

    • Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for area development projects, following national/international standards and regulations.
    • Prepare and implement Environmental Management Plans (EMP), ensuring the mitigation of adverse environmental impacts during both construction and operation phases.
    • Monitor compliance with environmental policies and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Policy Compliance & Safeguards

    • Ensure all project activities adhere to the safeguard policies and standards of both national and international funding agencies (such as World Bank, ADB, etc.).
    • Provide expertise in environmental legislation, permitting processes, and sector-specific environmental guidelines.
  • Stakeholder Engagement

    • Liaise with regulatory authorities, project stakeholders, local communities, and consultants for data collection, permit acquisition, and public consultations.
    • Organize and participate in stakeholder consultations, environmental public hearings, and disclosure activities.
  • Reporting & Documentation

    • Prepare technical reports and environmental documentation, including guidelines, checklists, and compliance statements.
    • Contribute to planning and design documents by integrating environmental considerations and recommendations.

Profile/Skills

  • Master’s degree in environmental planning, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related field from an accredited college/university.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience, with a strong track record in preparing Strategic Environment Plans, EIAs, and EMPs for area development or urban/regional planning projects.
  • Proficiency and familiarity with safeguard policies of national and international funding agencies.
