Context

SYSTRA’s urban planning work is based on an integrated vision of mobility. We assess all relevant issues right from the start of project development, including current and future travel requirements, urban planning, economic and social development, and environmental protection.

SYSTRA has completed 17,000+ Square kilometer of Statutory Master Planning and 15+ City Development Plans (CDPs).

We are seeking applications for the position of GIS Expert for GIS Master Plans.

Missions/Main Duties

  • GIS Database Management

    • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive geo-databases for urban and regional planning applications.
    • Ensure quality control, accurate metadata, and secure management of spatial datasets.
  • Spatial Data Analysis & Mapping

    • Acquire, process, and interpret satellite/drone imagery for the preparation of base maps and thematic maps.
    • Collect and analyze spatial attribute data for various planning and design purposes.
    • Conduct advanced geospatial analysis and visualization to support urban/regional planning decisions.
  • GIS/RS Tool Application

    • Use GIS/Remote Sensing software tools such as QGIS, ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine, and other platforms for data analysis, map creation, and spatial modeling.
    • Integrate and analyze multi-source geospatial data relevant to land use, transportation, infrastructure, and environmental planning.
  • Mobile Mapping and Surveys

    • Utilize mobile app-based mapping and survey tools for field data collection and real-time spatial data integration.
    • Coordinate and guide field teams in effective use of digital mapping technologies.
  • Project Support and Reporting

    • Collaborate with urban planners, engineers, and other project team members to ensure effective use of geospatial data in project documentation and deliverables.
    • Prepare technical reports, maps, presentations, and contribute to project proposals as required.

Profile/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology with a Postgraduate Diploma in GIS/Geo-Informatics/Remote Sensing.
  • At least 10 years’ professional experience in GIS/Remote Sensing for urban, regional, or infrastructure planning projects.
  • Self-motivated individual with outstanding leadership skills and the ability to influence without authority.
