Context

We currently have an opportunity for a Cost Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Dublin. 

 

This position within our team will suit a committed individual who can demonstrate interpersonal skills combined with commercial awareness and the ability to play their part in growing a dynamic high-performance team. 

 

With a focus on the design of Rail and Transport infrastructure the will also support other Product Lines in the Ireland and overseas, the post-holder will be part of a growing team delivering projects for a diverse portfolio of Ireland clients.  

Missions/Main Duties

 

The Cost Engineer will be responsible for the Cost Management and Work Package Process on a project ensuring: 

  • Timely issuing of performance reporting documents   
  • An organised approach to support record keeping 
  • Robust, Accurate Reporting both internally and externally  
  • Good relationships are maintained with all external parties to enhance the reputation of the company 

Profile/Skills

Working in collaboration with our management team, designers and contract partners, the Cost Engineer will be involved in a variety of tasks such as: 

 

  • Working on large multi-disciplinary rail projects.  
  • Applying the recognised Cost Management and Earned Value Techniques. 
  • Produce all Weekly Actual Cost Reporting and Analysis for submission to the Project team and Client  
  • Build relationships with the various Work Package Managers to ensure that they understand the process, the reports content and they are actively engaged with progress reporting and management of changes and variations 
  • Working closely with the Commercial ensuring that change I managed efficiently and/or variations are correctly captured and varied into project budgets. 
  • Attend Progress Meetings and communicate clear and concise data to the Project team and Client 
  • Produce all Work Package Agreements, and their associated change sheets  
  • Attend Work Package Reviews and record the meeting minutes and all actions 
  • Extensive use of Microsoft Products
