Context

The Director - Communications is a pivotal leadership role responsible for supporting sustainable growth and development for SYSTRA. You will oversee the success of the division by developing and implementing strategies to increase revenue, improve project efficiency, and achieve organisational goals. This includes the planning, organisation, direction, control, and review of the division's day-to-day operations, such as setting and managing budgets, monitoring portfolio performance, and recruiting and managing divisional employees. This role requires deep engagement in corporate initiatives and the ability to lead by example in implementing all corporate strategy and operations plan initiatives

Missions/Main Duties

  • Develop and maintain the Divisional Plan, Outlook, and Forecast Budget in alignment with the corporate strategy and operations plan
  • Lead the day-to-day operational management and oversight of the divisional talent, including talent acquisition, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities, coordinating with the CEO, Market Sector Leads, and other Divisional Managers on client development
  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle for a wide-ranging, often complex and high-risk, project portfolio, ensuring efficient execution and financial viability.
  • Manage the division's day-to-day financials, including revenue, utilisation, profit and loss, and review/approve all variances to project performance.

Profile/Skills

  • Senior experience in a leadership role
  • Degree qualification, preferably in an Engineering discipline.
  • Directors typically hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with many possessing advanced degrees or specialised certifications (e.g., project management or business administration)
  • Demonstrated ability to provide clear communication, particularly when conveying complex ideas to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven capacity to provide excellence to clients and develop/maintain trusting stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate and engage a team
