We are seeking applications for the position of Digital twin and FEA specialist for Urban Transport Infrastructure Project.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Develop, deploy, and manage digital twin models for the ropeway system’s infrastructure in Kathmandu Valley.
  • Apply Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods to evaluate the structural integrity and performance of ropeway components, including stations, towers, and cables.
  • Integrate geotechnical assessment data with digital twin/FEA models to ensure accurate simulation of real-site conditions, soil stability, and interaction with ropeway structures.
  • Conduct comprehensive site data reviews and collaborate with geotechnical, environmental, and transportation engineers to optimize corridor alignment and station design.
  • Provide recommendations for safe, sustainable, and climate-resilient design solutions, factoring in potential ground movement, seismic impacts, and environmental considerations.
  • Support decision-makers and project stakeholders by visualizing possible scenarios and predicting performance outcomes through the digital twin environment.
  • Contribute to design reviews and ensure all digital twin and FEA deliverables align with international standards and project objectives.
  • Prepare technical reports, model presentations, and documentation for project approvals and stakeholder communication.

Profile/Skills

  • Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline. Additional specialization in Digital Twin technologies, FEA, or relevant software is highly preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience, with significant exposure to digital twin solutions and FEA for transport infrastructure or ropeway projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in site assessment, soil-structure interaction analysis, and implementation of digital modeling for design optimization.
  • Proven experience using advanced FEA and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus, MIDAS, Bentley, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical factors influencing ropeway design, including soil stability, ground conditions, and environmental impacts.
  • Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary, international project teams, and contribute to resilient, sustainable design strategies.
