Context

We are seeking an experienced Planning & Scheduling Lead to join a prestigious masterplanning project here in Riyadh. This role demands a dynamic and detail-oriented professional with proven expertise in scheduling and planning for urban development or large-scale infrastructure projects within Saudi Arabia or the GCC region.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Lead, develop, and oversee the comprehensive planning and scheduling activities throughout the masterplanning project lifecycle (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & control, and closeout).
  • Establish and maintain the master schedule in Primavera P6 (including P6 EPPM/online), integrating inputs from all stakeholders, discipline leads, and subcontractors.
  • Interface with project managers, engineers, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure schedule alignment with project objectives and key deliverables.
  • Facilitate schedule risk analysis, critical path assessments, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Prepare and present progress reports, schedule forecasts, and recovery plans for management and client review.
  • Lead schedule review meetings, workshops, and coordination sessions; identify and mitigate schedule delays.
  • Ensure compliance with PMO procedures, project controls frameworks, and contractual requirements.
  • Mentor and support the project planning team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Coordinate the integration of schedule data with cost, procurement, and document control teams for holistic project controls.

Profile/Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management or related discipline (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years of relevant planning & scheduling experience, with a strong track record on major masterplanning, urban development, or large infrastructure projects.
  • Regional Experience: Proven professional experience in Saudi Arabia or GCC (mandatory).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6 (including P6 EPPM/online).
    • Strong command of MS Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Familiarity with project collaboration and reporting tools.
  • Core Competencies:
    • Advanced knowledge of project controls methodologies and scheduling best practices.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation abilities.
    • Ability to lead and inspire planning teams within a multicultural environment.

Preferred:

  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI-SP, or equivalent.
  • Experience working with consultants, government entities, and international project teams.
