Context

In India, SYSTRA is an international consulting and engineering company operating in the fields of Metros, High Speed Rail, Railways, Roads, Buildings, Urban planning, and Water Infrastructure for public and private organizations.

CTR – Regional Technical Centre of Systra India takes care of the international production of major projects at Systra Group level. CTR team has expertise in design of High-Speed Rail, Metro, Conventional Rail, Bridges, Highways, Depots, Stations and Transport Planning. Starting from Feasibility/Concept stage to Detailed Design to IFC/Shop drawings, the disciplines involved have experience of designing in accordance with various international codes and delivered projects across the world.

CTR team has successfully delivered some major projects in UK, UAE, Tanzania, KSA, Australia, Canada and Denmark. One of the major achievements of India CTR team has been the design of HS2 project in UK. We played an instrumental role in delivering 3 major Sublots on HS2 with our teams proactively engaging with Front Office in UK and delivering beyond client expectations. This resulted in India team receiving many accolades from the contractor BBV and client HS2. 

CTR team in India is proficient in working on multi-disciplinary projects integrating Design, BIM and Drawing production in a seamless workflow incorporating different software. The technical and management teams within CTR get an opportunity to work and interact with other CTR teams within Systra Group from Paris, Poland, Dubai, Philippines and Brazil.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Geometric Design of Highways using competent software i.e Open Roads and Civil 3D
  • Management of production team and interface issues 
  • Production of engineering design and details in accordance with project requirements 
  • Resilient to coping with conflicting demands, able to prioritize duties and work under pressure and lead the team. 
  • Solid verbal and written presentation skills. Outstanding organizational abilities and technical mindset. Fluent English; good command of technical terms. 
  • Preparation of calculations, written reports and checking of drawings 
  • Preparation of feasibility studies, preliminary through to detailed design for road infrastructure. 
  • Responsible to carry out Design and deliver the project in accordance with Client requirements. 
  • Responsible to lead all types of projects such Detail Design, Pre-bids, Feasibility etc.  
  • Should be able to carry out Preliminary Cost Estimates for Developed design  
  • Provide project progress and performance reports to the Team Leader and Project Management Team . 
  • Should be able to take up technical coordination with various disciplines for efficient delivery of the project.  
  • Ensure compliance of the Systra Group policies, particularly on ethics, safety and adherence to Company ISO Standards.
  • Promote and maintain good relationships with all internal and external parties to enhance the reputation of the Team and the company 

Profile/Skills

  •  M.E./M.Tech degree in a relevant engineering field (e.g., Civil Engineering, , Transportation etc.) 
  • 8+ years of experience in a design environment on range of civil engineering projects that include Highway infrastructure.
  • Track record of leading and managing complex projects independently.
  • Skilled user of Bentley Open Rail Designer and ,Civil 3D.
  • Knowledge of creating templates, Corridor modelling, Cross section, Design of turnout, Super elevation, and Quntity take off.
  • Detailed knowledge of multi-disciplinary issues associated with Road l Alignment design
  • Detailed knowledge of construction principles and standards including Road Design Codes (IRC/AASHTO/DMRB/ Gulf Region and other international standards)
  • Experience of team management, mentoring and development
  • Proven involvement in major projects and complex design work, with evidence of risk assessments, technical analysis, and case studies.
  • Expertise in industry-relevant design tools and a commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
  • Good knowledge of the application of safety standards including CDM and CSM-RA
